CEO
Sedat Saka is the President of MTS Logistics, Inc., the New York-based logistics company founded in 2000. With his energy, initiative, courage, and strong leadership, Mr. Saka has grown MTS Logistics to be one of the top logistics companies in the United States, with growth in all markets globally, and offices in NYC and LA. His leadership helped MoreThanShipping.com become one of the world's top logistics and transport blogs. He has a degree from ITU Merchant Marine Academy, where he graduated in 1986, and a Shipping & MBA degree from Istanbul University, where he graduated in 1990.
In his spare time, Sedat enjoys a very active lifestyle. He works out religiously daily, does yoga several times a week, and loves the outdoors. Some of his outdoor activities include biking, wind surfing, skiing, and swimming. He also loves cooking healthy meals for his family.
VP - Business Development
Can is originally from Turkey, where he got a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at Koc University in Istanbul. After working 5 years at MTS Turkey, he moved to Hong Kong as an MTS Representative, where he stayed 2 years working on Asia Development of the group. After Hong Kong, he came to MTS New York. He is currently the Vice President of Business Development and Export Manager at MTS Logistics, Inc.
Fun Fact: Can (read as John in Turkish) is a HUGE soccer fan, and Besiktas is his team. Despite the fact that he has lived abroad since 2005, he follows each and every game religiously!
VP - Import Development
Serkan Kavas was born and raised in Turkey. He graduated from Dokuz Eylul University with a Degree in Business Administration in 2001. He had an internship in Germany at a major industrial company after college. He worked at their family business in Turkey and managed their exports from Turkey to Europe. He moved to the U.S. to continue his education in New York and obtained his MBA degree with International Business concentration at New York Institute of Technology in 2005. After graduation, he was recruited by MTS Logistics and he has been working at the company since 2005. Serkan worked his way up from the entry level to operations manager and to his current position as our VP of Imports at MTS Logistics. He wears different hats daily with different responsibilities. He has vast knowledge, experience, and understanding of all aspects of logistics, freight, and the supply chain. His focus now is to help develop our import department and help our company move forward.
Fun facts: Serkan is globe trotter averaging 70,000 miles a year. He has been to more than 20 countries, and has seen half of the states in the continental U.S. Serkan’s passion is music - he loves listening to anything from grunge and heavy metal to deep house.
Import Operations Manager
Ethan is originally from China. He studied Computer Information Systems (CIS) at City Tech College in New York. Ethan has been working in the logistics industry since 2006. He joined MTS Logistics in December 2011, and is now one of our Import Operations Managers. Fun Fact: Ethan loves snowboarding, in fact he goes snowboarding various times every winter until the last bits of snow is melt.
Sales – Logistics & Project
Onur was born and raised in Turkey, where he got his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Onur worked as a Logistic Manager for a garment importing company for 10 years before joining MTS Logistics. He has been working in sales at MTS Logistics since February 2008. Having been on the other side as a logistics manager for a garment importing company helps him to understand what customers need from a logistics partner, especially for time-sensitive cargoes like garment. Fun Fact: Onur loves skiing and soccer.
Import Operations Manager
Nezih was born and raised in Turkey, where he got his Bachelor’s Degree in Econometrics from Uludag University. He moved to the U.S. in 2010 to get his MBA at Wilmington University. Nezih has been working in the logistics industry since 2014. Fun Fact: Nezih is a huge sports fan and has been following NBA since he was a little kid. He still believes that one day the Knicks will be as good as they were during the 1998-1999 season.
Export Operations Manager
Emre is Export Operations Manager at MTS Logistics, and has been with the company since 2006. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics.
Managing Director
Rojda is originally from Turkey, where he graduated from Koc University with a Business Administration
degree. After having internships at Pfizer and Glaxo SmithKline, he moved to New York to get his MBA at
Baruch College. As of 2018, he has been with MTS Logistics for 15 years, where he did work as an import specialist and in
country development manager positions, before moving to Los Angeles in 2006 and becoming Managing Director of MTS Logistics. He is
training other sales people and assistants on the west coast, and is in charge of developing the Arizona, Utah,
Colorado, and California markets.
Fun Fact: He loves to play golf on weekends, holds a black belt in Aikido, recently completed a sailing
certificate, is a Yogi practitioner, and a motorcycle enthusiast.
VP - Sales & Business Development
Marc has a degree in Business Management from the University of Texas at Dallas. He began his career in 2013 at Evergreen Shipping, where he worked as a Vessel Coordinator, gaining expertise in ocean shipping. Transitioning to the U.S. Imports/Exports sales team in the Gulf Region, Marc showcased dedication and industry knowledge. Since September 2019, he has worked at MTS Logistics as a Sales Executive. He was recently appointed as Vice President of Sales, a recognition of his leadership and commitment to customer service. In his free time, Marc enjoys outdoor activities with his family, hiking, and playing basketball.
Key Account Manager
Tugce was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. Her educational background includes both Business Administration and Art History and Music.
In 2010, she completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Program at Ozyegin University and, she worked as a book publisher for over seven years in Istanbul.
After she moved to New York in 2015, she started to work in the logistics industry. In 2017, she joined MTS family, and currently she is working as an Import Key Account Manager at MTS Logistics.
Import Specialist
Berna was born in Turkey but raised in upstate New York. While studying at Monroe College in Rochester, she worked as a manager in retail for two years. After that, she spent one year teaching English to children in Turkey. In 2018, she began her career in the logistics industry with MTS Logistics. She is currently working in the Import Department.
Export Documentation Specialist
Ellen is originally from South Korea. She moved to the U.S. and studied Accounting to have a U.S. career. Her career in logistics began in 2016 with one of the major Steam Ship Lines, MSC. Ellen then joined MTS after her family moved to New York and works in the Export Documentation department. Ellen is a powerful force in the workplace and uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. Fun Fact: Ellen is a caring person. She was a dietitian and cared for patients at the hospital when she was in Korea. Now, she is caring for her customers.
Booking Manager - Petrochemicals
Gizem was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. She got her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Kocaeli University. She moved to the U.S. in 2010 and she has been working in the logistics industry since 2016. She has been with MTS Logistics since 2018.
Documentation Manager - Petrochemicals
I was born and raised in a small town, Alacam, on the coast of the Black Sea, in Turkey. I graduated from Karadeniz Technical University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and earned my Master’s Degree from Brooklyn College in the Business Economics field.
My career in logistics began in 2013 with one of the steam ship lines, Turkon Line, where I learned the fundamentals of ocean shipping and logistics in the Equipment Control department. I have now been working at MTS Logistics since October 2018.
Export Documentation Specialist
I was born in Izmir and graduated from Istanbul Yeni Yuzyil University's international trade and logistics department on 2015. I participated in lots of international volunteer projects with AIESEC and joined MTS Logistics in 2019. I started in the Documentation department and now, I am handling both documentation and operations. I am happy to be a member of the MTS family.
Import Operations Manager
Ozcan was born and raised in Tekirdag, Turkey. He graduated from Dokuz Eylul University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Trade. He worked as an export specialist in manufacturing companies in Turkey during his university years. After graduation, he started his carrier in the logistics sector as a customs bonded warehouse coordinator. He has been working with MTS Logistics since 2020 and held various positions from Documentation to Key Accounts Manager. He is currently working as an Operations Manager at MTS Logistics with an aim to guide his team to go above and beyond.
LCB, Licensed Customs Broker
Cathy started working in the Air Import department. One day she heard about a department within the company called “Customs Brokerage”. It caught her attention and she started asking questions on what the role was. Cathy learned that brokers handles customs clearance on products that are imported from around the world and brokers work with U.S. Customs and other Government agencies. She always liked challenges in life, so she put in a transfer to the brokerage department. Cathy is now a Licensed Customs Broker with 15+ years of experience. She says becoming a Customs Broker was one of the best decisions of my life.
Fun Fact: Cathy is a certified Dharma Yoga Teacher. Outside of work she makes sure to live a healthy and happy lifestyle.
Key Account Manager
Ezgi was born in Turkey. She is interested in trade since she worked for ten years in her family’s business. She decided to build a related carrier and studied International Trade and Finance at Izmir University of Economics. During her education, she completed her internships in purchasing and finance departments. In second grade, she participated in Erasmus Exchange Program and studied department of Business Administration at University of Minho. When she was a senior, she decided to be in Logistics sector and took SAP classes for SD, MM and PP modules and completed with three certificates. After that, she worked for international production company as a part time student in her last year. She graduated with High Honor degree in 2019 at Izmir University of Economics and since then she is working at MTS Logistics, Inc. She is currently working as Key Account Manager and she is motivated by satisfying MTS partners with great and prompt service.
Fun Fact: She loves travelling and trying new experiences going to new places and tasting traditional dishes. She aims to be able to experience traditional foods from all over the world. She has been to 15 countries for now and wants to add more. She believes travelling is the best way to learn countries’ customs and it can be helpful for increasing society awareness about the way of living in each corner of the world.
Key Account Manager
Burcu is originally from Turkey. She got her Bachelor of Arts in Management degree from Bogazici University. She moved to the U.S. to get her MBA degree at the University of Miami. Burcu has been working in the logistics industry since 2019.

Beginning his journey in logistics in 2006, Nick Koutroulis brings a wealth of experience to his role at MTS Logistics. Guided by the legacy of his grandfather, Captain Nick Koutroulis, a notable figure in the Gulf's shipping industry during the 70s, Nick is dedicated to not just meeting but exceeding the high standards set before him. His comprehensive background in every aspect of shipping has enabled him to provide exceptional customer service, setting him apart in the industry. Nick’s vision extends beyond the traditional scope of freight forwarding, aiming to build solid partnerships with customers through trust and integrity. Emphasizing actions over words, he is committed to strengthening relationships with clients by proving reliability and honesty are more than just values; they are a way of life in logistics.
